Classic reel-to-reel feel and sound
From the late 60s to the mid-70s, the TC-355 was one of the go-to reel-to-reels for professional and home audiophiles. The 3-head, single-motor system allows the erase, record, and playback heads to remain independent, uses 7” reels, and functions in 3 speeds: 7 ½, 3 ¾, and 1 7/8 ips. The recording controls are subtly hidden behind a sliding door to maintain the sleek look of the era’s cabinet-inspired tech systems. Features include vibration-prevention rollers, a noise suppressor switch, headphone jack, auto stop switch, separate recording levels, and twin illuminated VU metres. A good machine for field work and experiments in creating sounds with tape.
